I'm a former assistant professor at Hacettepe University Institute of Informatics, Computer Graphics Department. Recently, I left my position at the university due to relocating to London. I received my M.Sc and Ph.D. degrees from Hacettepe University Department of Mathematics, by conducting interdisciplinary research studies covering Computer Science topics. During my Ph.D, I worked as a visiting researcher at Utrecht University(Netherlands), Department of Information and Computing Sciences. My current research interests consist of computer graphics and animation, especially physics-based and data-driven human animation as well as machine learning and optimization methods for computer animation.

Projects

Development of Mine Automation and Design Software(MOTAY) 2009-2011

In this TUBITAK project, a software called NetPro/Mine has been developed which can perform all stages of ore body modeling and mine planning. It provides tools for data input, 3D visualization and digitization, digital terrain model (DTM) construction, geological solid modeling, block modeling, classical and geostatistical resource and reserve estimation, mine design and planning. In this project, i worked as both researcher and programmer in the development of 3d modelling and visualization components of the software like triangulation of ore cross sections in any direction, construction of solid models from cross sections and clipping an inner part of the ore body by a given projectional polygon.

Data Driven Virtual Human Animation 2012 - 2014

This TUBITAK project covers research on physics based character animation, human motion database creation and retrieval, motion classification and segmentation and motion retargeting to non-humanoid characters. In this project I worked as a researcher in building high level physics based controllers for walking, climbing and catching motions. Within the project a free motion capture database named MIDAS has been generated.
